FORMER DUAL WORLD CHAMPION FOR IKON SUSPENSION ISM

Former two-time World Champion, Mick Headland and his long-time passenger, Brenton Kerr, are confirmed starters in the prestigious Ikon Suspension International Speedway Masters.

The Murray Bridge (SA) duo, will contest the Darrin Treloar Cup, being staged on night one (December 27), of the two-night blockbuster.

Headland, an icon of national sidecar racing, is a logical inclusion in the sixteen team field, being assembled, for what is the richest event on the Australian speedway sidecar calendar this summer.

The hard-charging veteran says he’s looking forward to taking part in what he describes as a very special event. “My team is thrilled to be a part of this meeting,” Mick explained.

“Everyone in the sport is aware of the historical significance of the International Speedway

Masters name and it’s so brilliant that the event is back on the calendar.

“It’s also very cool the way both nights will be honouring legends of our sport such as Darrin Treloar and Leigh Adams. Darrin has been one of my arch rivals for many years and I’m sure the sidecar meeting on December 27 will be fiercely contested.

“The International Speedway Masters, incorporating the Darrin Treloar Cup, is definitely a trophy that I’d like to have displayed in my house, so we’ll be going all out to win it.

“Gillman is our home track and Brenton and I love racing there. I cannot wait for this one.

Gillman always produces great racing and given the talent being assembled, this meeting will be nuts!”
