KYLE LARSON TEAMS UP WITH JPM FOR AUSSIE TILT
NASCAR and Sprintcar superstar Kyle Larson will team up with Jason Pryde Motorsport for a three-night tilt at Perth Motorplex this summer.
Larson is set to head down under in December as part of the recently announced promotion to bring High Limit Racing to Perth.
The Californian will race in all of the High Limit fixtures at Motorplex in what is a major coup for JPM. Larson will appear at Perth Motorplex on December 28, 29 and 30.
The deal will give Larson the advantage of local knowledge as he tackles the ultra competitive West Aussie Sprintcar scene for the first time.
According to Larson, the tie-up with JPM came off the advice of good friend and High Limits co-owner Brad Sweet. “Honestly, I don’t really know anything about Sprintcar racing on that side of the country,” Larson said.
“I was really reliant on Brad Sweet, he had spent a few weeks down there this past season racing in Perth. So I relied on him to find who would be the best available car owner for me to get lined up with.
“Everyone has said all sorts of good things about him as well as his equipment, so I’m really excited to get there and meet Jason and his team and get to race his awesome stuff and hopefully have a fun, successful week of racing there in Perth.“I’m really excited to visit that side of Australia. It will be a good time.”
JPM owner Jason Pryde welcomed the global racing superstar to the team. “We are thrilled to have Kyle join the JPM squad for three nights this summer,” said Pryde.
“He is one of the biggest names in global motorsport and for him to choose us to run his Australian programme is a testament to JPM as a team.
“We know we are a competitive team but we’re also excited about what we can learn from a driver with so much experience in not just Sprintcars but NASCAR and IndyCar as well.”
Larson is super accomplished on the world motorsport stage with his achievements including winning the NASCAR Cup Series in 2021 for Hendrick Motorsport.
He is also a three-time Knoxville Nationals winner and this year made his first start in the Indianapolis 500 after qualifying a sensational fifth. He was named the event’s Rookie of the Year.
