BRENNAN FULL OF PRAISE FOR PIRATES
TOM Brennan has paid tribute to the overall club atmosphere at Poole as they celebrate their Treble success of 2024.
Brennan ironically was a member of the Glasgow team who clinched the Cab Direct Championship title at the Pirates’ expense last year.
But his move to Wimborne Road has seen him part of a side which has swept the board with all three major team trophies.
He said: “It’s been a pretty incredible season for myself and obviously to be part of the Pirates has shown me a new way in speedway. I think that’s the only way I can put it.
“There’s kind of something about this club that will obviously stick with me forever. It’s an absolute honour to represent the Pirates this year and it’s everything the club deserves.
“Everything seems to click here at Poole and Danny and Matt (Ford) create a really good environment here and everybody works as a team, which is obviously what makes a winning team.”

OXFORD’S stand-in captain Sam Masters said he could take mild consolation from his final meeting of the season at Poole on Wednesday.
A patched-up Cheetahs side, who included only Masters and Ashton Boughen from their regular septet, were beaten in the Cab Direct KO Cup Final but Masters himself scored 11+1 and provided two of their race wins.
He said: “No Poole rider scored a maximum, so it was good that we managed to beat them all over the night.
“It would have been nice to have our captain Scotty (Nicholls) here and the rest of the boys who have been racing for us all season, but we ended the season with lots of injures – that’s the way it can go.
“Both Pete (Schroeck, manager) and my mechanic (Neil Evitts) told me: ‘go out and win the final race of the season and you can leave happy’ so that’s what I went and did. It is nice to finish the season by winning Heat 15.”
CONGRATULATIONS to all of the teams and individuals who secured titles during the 2024 season.
