LISMORE SPEEDWAY: CLARK TAKES LORD MAYOR’S CUP

David Clark continued his run of good form when he took out the season opening V8 Dirt Modified Lord Mayor’s Cup at Castrol Lismore Speedway, Saturday night, November 2.
Clark recently won the Australian V8 Dirt Modified Championship at Bundaberg’s Carina Speedway and again showed his class when he defeated a strong field at Lismore.
He was followed to the chequered flag in the Lord Mayor’s Cup by Mark Robinson, while another former multi Cup winner Andrew Pezzutti was third.
Clark set a torrid pace throughout the 25-lap main event and put down the fastest lap of the race when he stopped the timer at 13.953 seconds soon after he took the lead.
The best performing Sportsman class driver in the feature race was Mick Reid who finished ninth.
“It’s great to win the Lord Mayor’s Cup and it was a hard race,” Clark said on the victory dais.
“Our car got the job done and I want to thank my crew for the hard work they put in to get this result.”
Pezzutti looked strong early before he was run down by Clark and then later Robinson.
At the finish Clark enjoyed a four-and-a-half second winning margin over Robinson.
The top ten were rounded out by Josh Rose, Mitchell Randall, Seiton Young, Brock Armstrong, Josh Herne, Mick Reid and Phil McNamara.

RSA Sedans – Ryan Green, Adam Grill, Jeremy Wade.
SSA Top Stars – Jackson Bailey, Jake Synnot and Angus Scott.
SSA Juniors (New Stars) Eithan Eveleigh, Aston Bilson, Keira Bailey.
Wingless Sprintcars – Mitch Randall,Jayden O’Toole, Zane O’Toole.
The next fixure at Castrol Lismore Speedway will be November 16, highlighted with 410 Sprintcars with the running of the Lismore City Big sMACdown.
