SECOND CHANCE TO ROAR LIKE A TIGER!
WINTER signing Danyon Hume says he is even more excited for his second stint as a Sheffield rider.
The 28-year-old completed the Tigers’ team in November – returning to the club having previously had a short spell in the Steel City in 2021 and then racing for their ROWE Motor Oil Premiership rivals Ipswich.
Said Hume: “I’m coming back into the top league with a Sheffield team that has got some top riders in it, and I can’t wait.
“I’m looking forward to being in that environment and riding with these guys, because where they’ve been and where they are is where I want to be myself.
“I’m just glad and grateful to be back in the top league, racing with and against World class riders.”

FORMER Berwick racer Greg Blair is to undertake a 107-mile charity walk in aid of the Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund.
Blair will join colleagues from the Talk Speedway podcast as they make the journey from Shielfield Park to Redcar’s ECCO Arena, starting on Sunday April 27 following the Bandits’ clash with Edinburgh. They are set to arrive on Teesside on Friday May 2 ahead of the meeting between the Bears and Workington.
Current Berwick star Drew Kemp will be one of the guests joining Blair and colleagues Scott Frame, Graham Muncie and Laura Pollard on the walk.
Frame said: “I have previously done one of these walks for the Stroke Association so I am aware of just how difficult this challenge is going to be, but training started back in November when we first put the idea to Paul Ackroyd so we will be well prepared by the time the walk comes around.
“The Ben Fund does fantastic work for our sport. It really is a selfless organisation that holds such a fantastic standing in the speedway world.
“It’s honestly an honour to play a small part in helping raise funds. We have set a conservative target of £1,000 for the walk but in all honesty the goal is to raise a lot more than that.”

In another boost for the SRBF, their chairman Paul Ackroyd has confirmed another year of generous support from the World Speedway Riders Association for the Bonanza event.
He said “The WSRA have been tremendous in their support for the meeting, they recognise our aims in assisting our injured riders and support us in the best way possible. We are extremely grateful.”
