KURTZ PUTS TITLE ON THE LINE
BELLE Vue have confirmed a star-studded line-up for the Peter Craven Memorial next Monday (March 17) with club captain Brady Kurtz defending his title.
Kurtz’s competition includes Great Britain’s FIM Speedway of Nations winners Dan Bewley and Robert Lambert, former World Champions Jason Doyle and Chris Holder, top Swedish star Fredrik Lindgren, ex-Aces skipper Max Fricke and Ipswich favourite Emil Sayfutdinov.
Six of the current Belle Vue side are named in the field, including new signing Zach Cook and back-from-injury Tate Zischke.
Promoter Mark Lemon said: “First and foremost it’s always very important to pay tribute to the great man and Manchester legend. Peter Craven is such a valuable and cherished part of the history of this club. This field is a fitting tribute to a great superstar.
“The line-up rivals any Grand Prix in my mind, it is going to be one of the elite meetings of the year. It’s unmissable.
“To have three of the world’s top four riders and so many World Champions, it really is something very special. On top of that when you get five and six-rider semi and finals, it makes it a unique occasion.”
