WOLVERHAMPTON are back on top of the Premiership after a thrilling 48-42 win over Belle Vue on Monday.
The Aces led by eight points after eight races before Wolves levelled the scores with three to go as Nick Morris and Ryan Douglas got the better of Steve Worrall.
Douglas then teamed up with Luke Becker in Heat 14 to put the home side ahead for the first time, and Sam Masters defeated Dan Bewley in Heat 15 with Morris third – Bewley’s second place being enough to secure a league point for the Aces.
Morris (13+1) and Masters (13) led the way for Wolves with Bewley scoring 11 for the visitors.
Wolves boss Peter Adams said: “The team battled hard. It’s not the first time we’ve done that and came on strong in the second half of a meeting, and I think there’s a pattern developing here.
“Thankfully we were able to arrest the slide and put ourselves in a very good position at the halfway point of our season.
“Belle Vue were well worth a point and they contributed so much to a fabulous evening’s entertainment.”
Aces reserve Jye Etheridge (5+1) said: “We gave them a very good run early doors and we are disappointed to have missed out on the win, but that’s speedway and we can’t take away from the Wolves.
“We had a little bit of rain come over around halfway through the meeting and they seemed to adapt much more quickly to conditions after that than we did.
“Monmore can be a tricky track, but we still came away with a point which is obviously much better than coming away with nothing.”

POOLE make their first-ever club visit to Kent tonight (Tuesday) as they look to extend an unbeaten run of six meetings.
The Pirates won at Leicester at the weekend and once again track James Wright as a guest for the injured Ben Cook, whilst former Kings rider Jack Thomas steps in for the absent Ondrej Smetana.
The home side are set to welcome back Cameron Heeps after injury and continue to operate rider replacement for the retired Tom Bacon – although promoter Len Silver has confirmed a new signing is set to join in August.
Poole boss Neil Middleditch said: “I have many fond memories of going to the county of Kent when I was racing.
“Riding for Eastbourne meant our trips to Canterbury were fuelled by the local derby fever and I often reflect on those days, and of course I will always remember winning my U21 title at Canterbury all those years ago.”

LEICESTER look to bounce back from their weekend home defeat when they visit Plymouth in the Championship tonight (Tuesday).
It’s a two-day Southern tour for the Lions, who also race at Poole tomorrow – the team who smashed their long unbeaten home record on Saturday.
The visitors are at full strength with impressive youngster Dan Thompson moving into the main body of the side, whilst the Gladiators bring in Richard Lawson to guest for the injured Jason Crump.
Leicester No.1 Hans Andersen said: “I’ve never been to Plymouth so it will be a new experience for me, but I’m glad my team-mates have been there so they can pass on their experience of the track – and if we work together as a team, then we win.
“Poole are a strong side as they showed on Saturday but we’re going to go there on Wednesday with an open mind, and we can probably turn them around.”

He said: “I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone for the get well wishes and messages.
“It was a bad way to end the meeting at Edinburgh and I don’t remember anything about it.
