MARCUS DUMESNY’S US SUCCESS
More history for Sydney’s Dumesny racing family after Marcus recorded his first Sprintcar main event victory in America.
The ground breaker occurred on August 15 at Jacksonville Speedway, Illinois as Marcus led Chris Urish and Ryan Timms to the chequered flag.
The victory came soon after his campaign at the 60th Knoxville Sprintcar Nationals. Knoxville also represented another highlight in a big week for Marcus after he scored a heat victory in the world’s most prestigious Sprintcar international event.
The Dumesny name has become synonymous amongst the many Australian Sprintcar drivers who have raced at the Knoxville Nationals over the decades.
It all started in 1985 when Marcus Dumesny’s high profile dad, Max, won the 1985 Race of States. That race back in the day was one of the most important in the four nights of the Knoxville Nationals.
Last month Marcus made it back to America after two years and soon after arriving commenced his 2021 campaign at Cedar Lake Speedway, New Richmond, Wisconsin, in a tough baptism of fire with the World of Outlaws.
His latest US visit has obviously been busy but also successful as he nears the end of his stateside tour of duty.
Marcus wishes to thank chief sponsor Valvoline in addition to Rowett Motorsports, MaxWheel, Hoosier Tire Australia, Kistler Engines and Racing Products, PWR Performance (Inc), VRP and Locked Down Apparel.
