SHEFFIELD warmed up for the Premiership play-offs with a 61-29 thrashing of King’s Lynn at Owlerton.
The Tigers had three unbeaten riders in stand-in skipper Jack Holder (15), Josh Pickering (13+2) and Troy Batchelor (13+2) as they dominated the meeting.

Kasper Andersen scored 7+3 for the Stars, who end the season bottom of the table having won just two of their 20 matches.
Sheffield boss Simon Stead said: “We did the job, but we can’t read too much into that. Belle Vue will be a lot more problematic. They’re a super side and we know what to expect.

“I was delighted for Batch. It wasn’t that long ago that we were talking about zero for him in a meeting here, and now he’s gone through the card which is great for him and great for us.
“He’s had issues this year with his engines and things like that, but he’s starting to make it work and I hope that can happen on Thursday.”

King’s Lynn’s Lewis Kerr said: “It’s all about 2022 but I have to say that wasn’t good enough from us.
“I know it’s a tough place to come but I’m a little embarrassed to be honest, the scoreline doesn’t look good on our part.
“We should have done better and we all know that, but we have to learn from it and all we can do is put our hands up and say we weren’t good enough.”

GLASGOW secured second place in the Championship with a 49-41 win over Leicester to book an automatic spot in the play-off semi-finals.
The result means the third-placed Lions will now take on Scunthorpe in the quarter-finals as they look to continue their title defence.

Ricky Wells top-scored for Glasgow with ten points in a solid team display, whilst Ryan Douglas collected 13+3 for the visitors who ended the meeting with two late 5-1s.
Tigers star Sam Jensen (7+1) said: “It was great to have a win against Leicester – it was, on paper, a really hard match. Everybody kicked in today and we had the victory.

“We are probably settling down now after a few changes to the team in the middle of the season. I think we have each other’s backs as a team and today everybody delivered, we beat a great team.
“Everybody was thinking it was going to be a close match, but we were 10 or 15 points ahead at one point, so it was a big statement from the club.”

Douglas said: “Today was fairly slick at Glasgow, we didn’t expect it to be so slick. It took us half a meeting to try and get the set-up.
“But in the end we definitely got that sorted and had some heat advantages and we were on the pace a lot more.
“If we have to come back to Glasgow again, we can start off more competitively and get a better result.”

MILDENHALL took over from Berwick at the top of the NDL table with a 61-29 win over the Bullets at West Row.
Jason Edwards scored an 18-point maximum for the Fen Tigers with Jordan Jenkins (11+3) and Sam Bebee (11+1) both in the major points.
The visitors were hampered when both Ben Rathbone (finger and knee) and Luke Crang (shoulder and hip) were withdrawn from the meeting after tangling in Heat 3. Kyle Bickley top-scored with nine.
