AVALON SEASON COMMENCEMENT DELAYED
AVALON SEASON COMMENCEMENT DELAYED
With no clear direction from DHHS and government on how and when crowds can return, Geelong’s Avalon Raceway has made the decision to abandon the October 30 Halloween meeting, while events in November remain uncertain.
The track’s co-management, Rod and Jeff Drew, believe the best option will be to set December 26 (Boxing Night) for the season opener.
The season commencement will see Sprintcars race for the coveted Gold Cup sponsored by Sharp Cranes; this will double as a round of the Eureka Sprintcar Series, while sharing the bill will be Modified Production Sedans contesting the Christmas Cup.
In accordance with government mandates, Avalon Raceway will require all officials, drivers, crews and fans to be double vaccinated to gain entry to the complex.
