GLASGOW are through to the Championship Grand Final after holding Edinburgh to a 47-43 victory at Armadale on Friday.
The Tigers, who were defeated Finalists against Leicester in 2019, will battle for the league crown again – this time against Poole, having defeated the Monarchs by 18 points on aggregate.
Ricky Wells gave a superb performance for the visitors with 14 points from five rides, and Broc Nicol also returned to form with 10. Sam Masters scored 11+1 for the Monarchs as their title hopes came to an end.
Glasgow manager Cami Brown said: “I can’t be more proud of the boys. Over the two legs, every single one contributed in a massive way – and that’s what this team is all about.
“We’re a 1-7, we’re not about individuals, and it’s been a true team performance to get us to the Final.
“In saying that, I don’t think Ricky Wells has ridden better for us than he did tonight and Broc Nicol was sublime.”
Edinburgh boss Alex Harkess said: “It was disappointing, though all of our boys rode quite well and contributed something.
“Compared to last week we let Glasgow get too many heat winners.”

LEWIS Kerr got the better of his Redcar team-mate Charles Wright to take victory in the Teesside Silver Helmet at the Media Prima Arena.
Wright scored a 15-point maximum from the qualifying races but Kerr, who joined the Bears in late-season, won the Final with Wright second and Kyle Howarth third ahead of Luke Becker.

EDINBURGH are back in Armadale action this afternoon (Saturday, 2.30pm) as they host Poole in the first leg of the Championship KO Cup Final.
The Monarchs will be looking to put a spanner in the works of the Pirates’ Double hopes, as the Dorset side also have the league Grand Final to look forward to against Glasgow.
Jason Edwards continues to guest for the home side at reserve whilst the visitors bring in Connor Bailey to replace the injured Stefan Nielsen.
Poole co-promoter Danny Ford said: “Edinburgh will have a done a lot of racing by Saturday as it is their third meeting in as many days.
“For our lads, although Rory (Schlein), Danny (King), Ben (Cook) and Danyon (Hume) all rode in Schleiny’s Farewell Meeting on Monday, there will have been plenty of time off the bike since our last competitive match last Saturday.
“Whether that will work for or against us remains to be seen, but what we do know is that we are going to have to improve on the gating we showed last Wednesday at Wimborne Road and put in a showing just as we did at Leicester.”

MILDENHALL will expect to wrap up the National Development League title when they visit Armadale in their final fixture of the season today (Saturday).
The Fen Tigers went to the top of the table with their win at Kent on Tuesday and have an advantage of 43 race points over second-placed Berwick on the same match points – meaning only a huge defeat in Scotland would scupper their hopes.
The Devils again bring in William Lawson at No.1 to replace the retired Nathan Greaves, whilst the visitors continue to operate rider replacement for Luke Ruddick.

LEICESTER and Belle Vue meet in the National Development League at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena tonight (Saturday).
The Lion Cubs are the outgoing champions and are still defending an unbeaten home record since joining the league in 2019, although their last three matches on their own track have ended in 45-45 draws.
Cubs captain Joe Thompson said: “It’s been a good team to ride with, I think all the lads have learned a lot and being captain for these last few meetings has been great.
“I can’t thank the fans enough for their support, it’s been great having them behind us all year, and hopefully we can finish off with a win against Belle Vue.”
Colts co-boss Steve Williams said: “With the lads having not raced together for nearly seven weeks, it’s not ideal but I’m sure they will be champing at the bit when they get in the zone on Saturday.
“We’ve got a busy week to finish our season, and this will be a very stern test for the boys, a difficult fixture but certainly not one we are afraid of in any way. Our main goal is to win the meeting.”

BELLE Vue wrap up another memorable year at the National Speedway Stadium with the Peter Craven Memorial individual event tonight (Saturday).
Recently crowned World Speedway of Nations champions Dan Bewley and Tom Brennan headline, with three-times World Champion Jason Crump and league title winner Chris Harris also set to appear.
And current Aces Charles Wright, Brady Kurtz and Jye Etheridge will make their final 2021 Belle Vue appearances in the Craven Memorial.
Director of Speedway Mark Lemon said: “It’s fantastic to see such enthusiasm from the supporters for this meeting, especially since we revealed the line-up.
“Overall, we’re very pleased with the cast of riders we’ve brought together. This is more than just a meeting for Belle Vue, this is a celebration of the life of a club legend.
“Peter Craven was, and still is, one of the greatest of all time in Manchester and this year’s field is more than worthy of his life and legacy.”
