Multi Australian Sprintcar Champion Kerry Madsen has joined Roth Motorsports team for the 2022 American campaign.
He expects to run 40 to 50 races on the nationwide scene, including the Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway and the Kings Royal at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway.
He’ll work beside fellow Australian crew chief Paul Baines, who boasts 15 years of expertise with Tarlton Motorsports.
“Beef Packers have at all times had improbable groups, nice groups. It’s going to be enjoyable to work with these guys,” Madsen, 50, said.
Madsen re-established himself this previous 12 months when he surged to seven wins – together with six aboard Tony Stewart’s #14.
It was essentially the most wins for Madsen in a season since he recorded eight victories through the 2018 campaign.
Three of his wins this past season have been with the World of Outlaws in one of his best WoO performances in recent years.
Madsen will be racing an open-schedule in the No. 83Jr Roth Motorsports entry with backing from Toyota Racing Development.
Kerry drove for the Tony Stewart team on a similar open schedule for the majority of the 2021 season. Adding to his three World of Outlaws wins in 25 starts was his overall consistency highlighted with 21 top-ten results on the Outlaws trail.
In an ideal world, Madsen would have appreciated to return with TSR in 2022.
However shortly after the 2021 World Finals, team owner Tony Stewart confirmed he’d shelved his #14 Sprintcar in the intervening time to concentrate on his firm’s new NHRA group.
“TSR has loads happening with what they’ve planned over there. I get it.”
However, Madsen is delighted to join Roth Motorports and has high exptectations for the coming season.
