TRELOAR-COX CONTINUE THEIR GILLMAN DOMINATION

AUSTRALIA’S MOST successful Speedway competitor of all time Darrin Treloar and passenger Blake Cox continued on their winning way at Gillman Speedway in South Australia, Saturday night, March 26, by winning the Paint Masters Sidecar Super Series SA round two in a canter.

The duo were on fire throughout the meeting and recorded five wins from as many starts in their qualifying heats to finish with a perfect 15 point maximum.

They later raced to an easy win in the final ahead of comeback team, Justin Plaisted/Simon Cohrs and third-placed Queensland Champion Brodie Cohen with local passenger Jesse Headland. Reigning Division Two Champions Kym Menadue/Shane Dolan placed fourth

Riders from South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales competed in the event as another lead up meeting toward the Australian Sidecar Championship over Easter.

Treloar/Cox,who were unable to compete two weeks earlier as the trailer broke on route from NSW.  However, on this occasion, their victory makes it eleven wins from as many races in their two meetings at Gillman.

Justin Plaisted/Simon Cohrs continued their successful comeback after a lengthy lay off. The duo were the third highest point scorers in the heats with 10 points from two wins, two seconds (behind Treloar in heat 12 and Cohen in heat 18) as well as an exclusion in their second heat. The week before they won the 45th staging of the Mildura Sidecar Spectacular at Olympic Park.

Third placing in the final went to the much travelled Queenslander Brodie Cohen and SA passenger Jesse Headland, they finished the heats as the second highest point scorers with 14 points made up from four wins and a second, only being beaten by Treloar/Cox in heat 16.

With their overall fourth placing, reigning SA Division Two Champions Kym Mebadue/ Shane Dolan finished with 10 points in qualifying heats that saw them relegated to the last chance semi final which they won. Their heats resulted in a win, three seconds and a third.

Damien Niesche/Aryron Canning (nine points) finished second in the semi ahead of some good performances by Dean Hobbs/Daniel Low (eight points) in third and Aaron Silvy/Jaron Silvy (eight points) placed fourth in their best meeting to date.

Reigning Australian Champions Mark Plaisted/ Ben Pitt and SA number two Kane Golding/ Isaac Amos both finished with seven points apiece made up of a win, two seconds an exclusion, a non finish apiece and failed to make the semi final.
