REDCAR romped to their biggest-ever away win with a 62-28 thrashing of Newcastle at Brough Park.
The Bears provided all but two of the race winners at Brough Park, with six of their riders paid for double figures.

Erik Riss (11+1) scored a four-ride paid maximum, whilst reserve duo Jordan Jenkins and Jason Edwards combined for 19 (paid 21) between them).
Guest Kyle Howarth scored 11+1 for the Diamonds, who suffered a further blow when Mathew Wethers was withdrawn with an injured foot.

Bears boss Jade Mudgway said: “Congratulations to Newcastle for putting in a huge amount of work into this track which is in excellent shape now.
“They’ve worked so hard, and it shows. Our lads really took to it and gave us a night to remember at our local rivals.”

Newcastle owner Rob Grant said: “I have to apologise for that result tonight. It was totally unacceptable, but I can promise our fans that we’re on it and I’ll guarantee before the next home meeting in two weeks’ time, we will have at least one new face in the side. We’re not done with 2022, and we will make it better.”

WOLVERHAMPTON mark 94 years to the day since the first meeting at Monmore Green in tonight’s (Monday) Premiership clash with Sheffield.

The home side are back at full strength with Leon Flint returning at reserve, with Ryan Douglas set to race after aggravating a shoulder injury on Friday.
The Tigers have won all three of their league matches so far, and were also successful at Monmore in the League Cup – a result which Wolves equalled at Owlerton ten days ago.

Wolves skipper Sam Masters said: “We can take a lot of confidence from that win at Sheffield the other week.

“We know they’ve already come to our place and won once this season but that was our first meeting as a team, we all had a few teething problems, and I think if they’d have come a little bit later, the result would’ve been different.

“So now’s the chance to show that, but we know how strong they are so we’re all going to need to score some points to get that win we need and want.”
Tigers boss Simon Stead said: “It’s always a really tough ask going to Wolverhampton. But if we continue to ride how we are doing then there’s no reason why we can’t get a result.

“We’re feeling really positive, but we’ll show Wolverhampton and Peter Adams’ men the respect that they deserve because they’re a very, very good outfit.”

KING’S Lynn host Peterborough in the A47 derby at the Adrian Flux Arena tonight (Monday).

The Panthers are still to get off the mark in their title defence, but ran the Stars close in the League Cup last month only to be beaten by a sensational Heat 15 5-1 from Josh Pickering and Niels-Kristian Iversen.

The hosts are at full strength as they go for back-to-back home wins, whilst the visitors give a debut to Jordan Jenkins, who has taken a Rising Star berth and is preferred to Jordan Palin on this occasion.

Stars boss Alex Brady said: “Things have been going well, and with Peterborough on Monday and then Ipswich home and away, hopefully by the middle of June it will be quite rosy for us.

“There’s a long way to go until October, where we hope to be still racing, but so far so good!
“I think we’re starting to see the green shoots of what we tried to put into place over the winter with team spirit and so on with the results we’ve had this year.”

Panthers manager Rob Lyon said: “These are two important meetings for us this week.“We’re gunning for King’s Lynn on Monday, and we need to win that one if we possibly can, and get our season on track.
“Then we have Wolverhampton at home on Thursday, so there are seven points up for grabs and we want all seven if we can get hold of them.”
