POOLE READY FOR FIRST LEG
POOLE kick off the Championship play-offs tonight (Wednesday – UK time) with the first leg of their quarter-final tie against Plymouth at Wimborne Road.
The Pirates have named a full-strength side but the injury-hit Gladiators have had to make changes due to injuries and suspension.
The visitors have named Ben Trigger, Anders Rowe and Dillon Ruml as guests for Ben Barker, Michael Palm Toft and Hans Andersen, with rider replacement in operation for Edward Kennett.
Poole co-promoter Danny Ford said: “We have absolutely no desire to hand over our league title without a fight and I believe that we can go all the way if we apply ourselves like we have been doing in recent weeks.
“I might begin sounding like a stuck record over the next few weeks but we have to treat every meeting as a Final, and if the fans get behind us we can make this a memorable season.”

OXFORD and Kent are both in ‘must-win’ territory for tonight’s (Wednesday) NDL clash at Cowley.
Both sides still have a mathematical chance of making the play-offs, and a win for the Chargers in what is their final fixture would take them into the top four for the time being at least.
Jordan Jenkins is back to captain the hosts, who use rider replacement for the injured Nathan Stoneman, whilst the Royals bring in Joe Thompson to guest for Ben Morley who is on Championship duty.
Oxford boss Peter Schroeck said: “It would be nice to be in control of our own fate, but the reality is we don’t have that luxury.
“What we are in control of is tonight’s meeting and doing everything possible to collect three points and put the pressure on Belle Vue Colts.
“We’re the only team to have beaten Kent at their home track this season, so it goes without saying that they’ll be fired up for this one.
“Having Jordan back in the squad is a boost, but we’ll need a complete performance if our play-off hopes are to remain alive. We have the talent, we just need to put it into practice.”

FORMER Birmingham and Cradley racer Tom Perry makes a surprise return to action in tonight’s (Wednesday) Alan Grahame Memorial at Perry Barr.
Perry, who won NDL titles with both clubs, has been out of the sport for three years but lines up in the Brummies’ season finale.
He said: “I really appreciate getting the call to race in this meeting – especially because both clubs are quite special to me and were a big part of my career that I had in the speedway world.
“I’m just going to go there, enjoy myself and see if I can still mix it even after a fair bit of time away! “It’s going to be a good meeting looking at the teams and it’s going to be good to see Cradley back on track too.
“I really hope we have a good turnout for Alan with supporters from both clubs and it’s nice that he’s being remembered with a meeting like this.”
