SEASON COMMENCES OCTOBER 15 AT EASTERN CREEK SPEEDWAY
The 2022-2023 season at Eastern Creek Speedway commences with five racing divisions Saturday night, October 15.
The season opener features 410 Sprintcars, Midgets and supported with top action from Formula 500 Juniors and Seniors as well as highly competitive racing from the RSA Street Stocks.
The Sprintcar action resembles something of a mini State of Origin between News South Wales and Queensland.
Can a Sydneysider get the vital first points in the opening round of the Sydney Sprintcar Premiership, or will be it a Queenslander who takes the glory?
Hoping to take one for Victoria will be former Australian Sprintcar Champion Jamie Veal.
It sets the scene nicely and has the ingredients of a cracker opening main event for the fabulous Sprintcars.
Aaron Kelly, Allan Woods and Adam Butler will be Queensland’s hopes but the trio will face some tough opposition.
The Sprintcar Association of NSW has some high flyers in Sam Walsh, Jordyn Brazier, Jessie Attard, Troy Little, Lachlan Caunt, James Thompson and Warren Ferguson in the line-up going for a main event win.
Kaidon Brown fronts for Sprintcar action following his off-season American racing stint in Midgets and Micro Midgets.
Midget drivers will be chasing opening round feature race points in the Speedway Classics magazine sponsored Eastern Creek Speedway season main event pointscore series. This is a series within the sanctioning NSW association separate from any other club championship events during their 2022-2023 season.
NSW Champion Michael Stewart, Matt Jackson and Troy Jenkins head the line-up that also includes Alan Day, DJ Raw, Jordan Mackay, Mitch Brien and Gary Rooke.
The Formula 500 Seniors has attracted Tim Randell, Cameron Jewell and Paul Gray amongst the entry list.
The Juniors are a good supporting class in the Formula 500 ranks, bringing on the next crop of talent in this exciting division that has been long established throughout Australian speedway.
RSA organisers have anticipated 26 entries for their Street Stock racing on Saturday night.
Temporary lighting has been installed at the ECS circuit which means the first three rows of the grandstand seating have been impacted for a short time while new circuit enhanced lightning is finished. ECS promotion apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause to patrons on opening night.
