PREMIERSHIP SOUNDBYTES…
BELLE VUE
“We got the job done! What a club, what a team effort it has been all season long and we have such a great bunch of guys both on and off the track. It’s an unbelievable feeling. 29 years this club has waited for this moment and we’re so grateful to all the fans for sticking with us and backing us every step on the journey to this victory.”
Aces skipper Brady Kurtz was a proud man after leading his side to Premiership title glory in their dramatic Grand Final win over Sheffield.

The Witches have recalled Erik Riss for their final league match of the season at Sheffield next Monday. Riss had been replaced by Rohan Tungate when he suffered a broken ankle in the summer, but he has since returned to racing for Redcar.

KING’S LYNN
“I feel like a broken record saying it was not our night, there were some highlights with Freddie (Jakobsen) who was excellent, Thomas (Jorgensen) as well, but unfortunately we were not good enough collectively. We will try to claw it back as best we can on Thursday but there is no hiding that this was a really disappointing night.”
Stars boss Alex Brady admitted it had been a flat night for his side as they went down to a 39-51 defeat in the first leg of the League Cup Final at the hands of Sheffield.

SHEFFIELD
“They did not let me down one little bit, they just showed their professionalism and their want to do well for this club. They were all disappointed with what happened on Thursday and I think we saw what that meant to them tonight, going out there, getting straight back at it and doing a fine job.”
Tigers boss Simon Stead was proud of his side’s efforts at King’s Lynn on Monday as they took the lead in the League Cup Final after overcoming their disappointment from the Grand Final defeat to Belle Vue last week.

“It’s always nice to win meetings and we had fun out there tonight. It was a nice way to cap off the season here and I hope the Wolves fans enjoyed a good night of racing.”
Wolves star Nick Morris rounded off the Monmore campaign with victory in Monday’s Ladbrokes Olympique, defeating Tom Brennan, Luke Becker and Ryan Douglas in the Final.

“It’s great to win this here, because without this club I don’t think my career would be where it is today. I hope they will find a way to continue.”
Monarchs skipper Sam Masters won the Scottish Open at Armadale on Friday with the club and supporters now anxiously awaiting news on their future and whether they will be able to come to the tapes in 2023.

LEICESTER
“We’ll be doing everything we can to get a decent result at Poole on Friday and set things up for the second leg. We do know we need to be better than when we lost to them in the KO Cup, the riders know it, and I firmly believe we’re capable of doing so. I think it promises to be a thrilling Final between two very strong teams.”
Lions boss Stewart Dickson is calling for a big effort from his side as they bid to overturn reigning champions Poole over two legs in this weekend’s Grand Final.

POOLE
“We are here to win trophies and we’ve done the best part of that tonight and it doesn’t stop now. You know we have got a league title to win, and I will do whatever I have to if it helps the side. If I need to lend Drew (Kemp) an engine again then I will. Whatever needs to be done will be done by me because I am here to win trophies and that’s what we are all about.”
Skipper Danny King stressed the Pirates’ winning mentality as they retained the KO Cup with their aggregate win over Redcar last week, and now move forward to the Championship title decider against Leicester.

BERWICK
“It’s a shame the season ended in such a way, but it shouldn’t detract from the fact that the seven riders who have worn the Bullets colours this season have all contributed to steering the club to its first play-off appearance. At some point every one of them has made a match-winning contribution to the cause and provided us with plenty of entertainment along the way.”
Bullets boss Gary Flint was keen to stress the overall achievement of his side after their play-off chances were ended by a heavy defeat at Mildenhall in the semi-finals.
LEICESTER
“It would have been nice to get further ahead, but you could see in Heat 14 that they were all having problems with the track with it being so slippery, so it was a sensible decision and we’d have taken a 26-point lead from the start.”
Lion Cubs boss Dave Howard had no complaints with the abandonment of the first leg of the KO Cup Final against Mildenhall prior to Heat 15, with his side 55-29 ahead at the time and in pole position for the silverware.

MILDENHALL
“It feels absolutely fantastic to get a maximum on my home debut – this week and last week at Berwick has been a great way to get my NDL career started. Last week was on a track I’d ridden a lot as a youth rider of course, so it was great to bring the confidence I gained from that into today’s meeting.”
Youngster Luke Harrison raced to an impressive 12-point maximum in his second appearance for the Fen Tigers as cover at reserve for the injured Sam Bebee, completing an excellent play-off semi-final display against Berwick.
