SCHLEIN’S SHOCK RETURN
RORY Schlein is to make a dramatic return to UK racing next season after agreeing a deal to join Championship club Berwick.
The 2020 British Champion retired to Australia after winning the second-tier title with Poole last year, but he has now been tempted into a comeback at Shielfield Park, with the Bandits also naming Connor Coles as a starter at reserve as they complete their line-up.
Team boss Gary Flint said: “Once we became aware of Rory’s availability we were in no doubt that he would be the perfect fit for the Bandits, bringing huge experience both on and off track.
“Similarly, Connor brings a vast amount of experience to our reserve pairing.
“I believe that we have put together a side capable of winning matches home and away.
“After always seeming to just miss out on the play-offs, we are determined to get there in 2023.”
