Anderson set the tone early, laying down a smoking 12.766 to claim an overall quickest time award. McFadden, Tim Hutchins and Luke Dillon set respective quickest times in their individual groups.
It was previous night winner Lachlan Mchugh who won the opening heat of the night in the NQ7. A flying Ryan Jones would swoop in on heat two taking the win at the wheel of the S63. Texan Chase Randall, driving the DKM Motorsport USA9 was the victor of heat three, whilst Jock Goodyer held down the fort in heat four.
Brody Appleby and Mahtia Bissett would be the sole two transfers out of a gruelling last chance C Main.
Rolling into the timed pole shoot outs would see the Gold Group four of the nation’s finest including Grant Anderson, Luke Dillon, James McFadden and Jamie Veal. Anderson timed quickest claiming front row alongside South Australian Luke Dillon.
Just four spots would be up for grabs in another hard fought B Main event. Brendan Quinn would victor, with heavy hitters Daniel Pestka, Jack Lee and Cody Maroske qualifying through to the A Main.
After pole sitter Anderson was eliminated following a tangle on lap one, Goodyer and Veal turned on another show of the ages across the full width of the track in their battle for the speedweek crown but ultimately neither could match the speed on the final lap of the McFadden machine.
McHugh grabbed another strong points haul in fourth in front of Luke Dillon in fifth. Chase Randall was sixth over the line with Glen Sutherland, Tate Frost, Ryan Jones and Tim Hutchins sealing a close knit top ten.
The Junior Formula 500s continued their mammoth Speedweek into Avalon Raceway putting on their own show and some historic battles from the fast forming stars.
Zoe Pearce was stellar claiming the oepning heat race win. Previous night winner Kobi Wright continued his strong form with a win in heat two. Cooper Norman returned serve in heat race three claiming main honours. On home turf Koby O Shannassy won the fourth and final heat of the night.
The kids went at it for 15 fierce rotations but simply no one could match the speed of the N78 driven by Kobi Wright. The New South Welshman checked out to a 1.5 second lead from Koby O Shanassy and Zoe Pearce on the podium. Mikey Green and Mitch Saunderson made up the strong top five.
