WORKINGTON TO HOST NDL RIDERS’ CHAMPIONSHIP
WORKINGTON has been announced as the staging venue for the National Development League Riders’ Championship.
The top meeting in the third tier will take place at the new Northside track on Sunday September 24, with a 2pm start.
Extensive work has taken place to transform the facility and bring Workington back into competitive racing, after the Comets last raced at nearby Derwent Park in 2018.
The NLDRC is one of several special events to head to Cumbria this year, with Oxford skipper Jordan Jenkins the current holder after his victory at Scunthorpe last autumn.

BELLE Vue have completed their National Development League side with the signing of club asset James Pearson.
The 17-year-old protégé of Leigh Adams will continue with Birmingham in the Cab Direct Championship whilst taking on a heat-leader role with the Colts in the third tier.
Club CEO Mark Lemon said: “A lot of time and effort has gone into bringing James to Belle Vue.
“It’s a big plus when opportunities open for the inclusion of Commonwealth riders to be able to participate in the National League and we’re delighted to finally welcome him to Manchester.
“He’s a very exciting prospect and has already proved himself a capable rider, but I think this season will be another significant stepping stone in development for rider and club.
“I’m confident that supporters will be as happy with our Belle Vue Colts team as we are, and we are very much looking forward to seeing them in action.”
