KING’S BONANZA
DANNY King became a Ben Fund Bonanza record-breaker with victory at King’s Lynn on Saturday.
The Ipswich and Redcar racer’s performance at the Adrian Flux Arena made him the highest scorer in the history of the Bonanza, overtaking the ever-present Ben Barker.
King also became only the second rider to win the event twice, following his victory at Scunthorpe in 2020 just prior to the Covid shutdown. The meeting attracted an excellent turnout and King dropped just one point in his qualifying rides before making a fast start to take control of the Final.
But a major battle ensued for the remaining rostrum places with home man Michael Palm Toft eventually taking second place ahead of Tom Brennan, with Richie Worrall fourth.
Swedish star Fredrik Lindgren was narrowly squeezed out of a place in the Final on countback.

WOLVERHAMPTON captain Sam Masters stages his Testimonial meeting at Monmore Green today (Sunday, 3pm).
Masters is going into his seventh successive season with the West Midlands club and has assembled a star-studded line-up including former Wolves favourites Fredrik Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell, and two more GP riders in Jason Doyle and Max Fricke.
Said Masters: “I tried to fill the meeting up with friends I’ve known for years and years, and years and other riders who I’ve had a good connection with at some point during my career.
“It’s going to be great to get Freddie and Jacob back to Wolves, but every single rider in that meeting I am so grateful to and it does mean a lot that they’re coming to do it for me.
“I hope we get some great racing, I hope everyone feels entertained and has fun and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Wolves legends Peter Karlsson and Mikael Max have also flown in for the event and will be staging a special track walk with supporters from 2pm, at a cost of £10.

STEVE Worrall is set to bring together a host of riders with strong Poole and Belle Vue connections when he stages his Testimonial at Wimborne Road on Wednesday. Worrall’s meeting will feature sides representing the clubs who won both senior league titles last season – including two high-profile international stars.
Antonio Lindback remains the track record holder at the Dorset venue, dating back to 2006, and the Swede will join five of last year’s victorious Pirates with former skipper Danny King stepping back in.
Worrall spent seven years with Belle Vue and their team on Wednesday includes five of last season’s Premiership winners, headed by Slovenian ace Matej Zagar.
Said Worrall: “The Poole team pretty much wrote itself, but on the Belle Vue team I wanted riders who I had ridden with in the past and who have been or are associated with Belle Vue.
“I also didn’t just want to bring in randoms. I wanted them all to be connected with the teams, so that the fans have a really good night with riders they know and will support.”
