Reigning Australian Pro Sprint Champion Mark Caruso created history last weekend at the B&S Earthworks Timmis Speedway, Mildura, when he become a three-time Mainline Dynolog Dynamometers All Stars Series Champion.
The most successful driver in the series picked up two A-Main victories on the way to his third series crown, beating home MD Motorsport Most Improved Driver Kane Newcombe with Hoosier Tire Australia Rookie of Year Chris Temby in third.
Even after an opening lap flip in the final A-Main of the series, Caruso earned enough points to take the win by 208 markers. Temby meanwhile didn’t compete at the final round due to engine troubles on the V18 but still had enough points for third overall. With all teams and officials gathered, the annual pit party started off by thanking all our valued sponsors, officials and tracks the series visited.
The awards section commenced by presenting a complete Ti Bolt Kit valued at $1600 thanks to BK Racing Performance Products. This award was a lucky draw featuring seven drivers in contention with Newcombe winning the kit. It wasn’t the only award Newcombe won, with him also taking home a complete set of Maxwheels courtesy of MD Motorsports for being the most improved driver.
Temby took home a $500 Hoosier Tire Australia gift card for his efforts as the Rookie of the Year with Boyd Harris receiving the Special Recognition Award and a complete set of nerf bars for his efforts throughout the series. Dan Scott received a front wing when he won the Altitude Award for his three roll overs throughout the series. Long time crew of Caruso Byron Phillips and Chris Chenoweth took home the Crew Chief Of The Year award.
After blowing four engines with following rebuilds, Todd Moule would take home the Herbert’s Custom Cycles Maxie’s Keep On Fighting Award. Moule would only finish two A-Mains which, on both occasions, netted him a victory. The Time-Honoured Drivers’ Driver Award, known as the Phil Lock Award and Best Presented Award, went to Jeremy Kupsch.
The next two awards were presented by Series Promoter Mandy Searle.
The first award was the Hs Star Award which went to Lisa Moule for her services to the Series. The next award saw three members inducted into the All Stars Series Hall of Fame. Chief Stewart Keith Mitchell, Series Commentator Daniel Kirby and hard working Official Michael Karfut all joined an illustrious group of people who have made the All Stars Series what it is.
The Mainline Dynolog Dynamometers Allstars Series would like to thank all the drivers, the crews, the tracks, committees and volunteers, the sponsors and the fans for making the 16th edition of the All Stars Series a blast. Plans are already in full swing for the 17th running of the All Stars Series with plenty of news to follow.
