NEW BIKE THROTTLES NEXT GENERATION INTO THE FUTURE
Swedish legend Tony Rickardsson believes the brand-new SGP4 bike can propel a new generation of stars to the top of the sport with the 190cc machine available to order now.
Designed by the six-time FIM Speedway world champion and his long-time mechanic Tomasz Suskiewicz, the brand-new bike with a Daytona FS Anima 190 engine, aimed at 11 to 13-year-olds, makes its competition debut on the afternoon of the FIM Speedway GP of Sweden – Malilla on July 15, when the first-ever SGP4 event will be staged.
The competition’s launch is part of FIM Speedway global promoter Warner Bros. Discovery Sports’ vision to give speedway’s youngest riders the ideal first step on to the sport’s pyramid, before progressing to SGP3 – the FIM Speedway Youth World Championship for 250cc under-16 riders, which also takes place in Malilla on Friday, July 14.
Riders then graduate on to the full-size 500cc bikes for SGP2 – the FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship, which gets underway with the Prague FIM SGP2 of Czech Republic this Friday, before taking the ultimate step into Speedway GP.
